A WEEKEND IN ITALY, PART III. BERGAMO
If you are travelling to Milan with a low-cost airline, you may arrive at Orio al Serio International Airport (also known as Il Caravaggio International Airport). Situated 50 km from Milan, it is only some 5 km away from Bergamo, an enchanting city perched on a hilltop with artistic treasures and medieval atmosphere. Bergamo makes for a great day trip, so I decided to spend a few hours here before my afternoon flight back home.
A WEEKEND IN ITALY, PART II. LAKE COMO
Surrounded by a crown of Alpine mountains, the ever-so-beautiful Lake Como has always been celebrated by its visitors. First favoured by wealthy Romans, then by royalty, poets and artists, the scenic landscapes of the lake and the historical villas are now frequented by a great many tourists and Hollywood celebrities.
A WEEKEND IN ITALY, PART I. MILAN
Buona sera, as they say here in Milan! This past weekend, I have escaped to Lombardy for a much-needed time of indulgence in good food and all things beautiful. Due to work commitments, I could only go away for two days, but I made sure this couple of days would be action-packed. And by action, I mainly mean eating copious amounts of pizza. Other than that, I was planning to spend the first day in Milan, the following day on the shores of Lake Como, and the morning hours before my flight home in Bergamo.
