A Russian girl taking over the world one country at a time

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT

As of February 2018, I have set foot in 58 countries: Austria, Argentina, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada*, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, French Polynesia, Gambia, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, Ireland*, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Macau, Malaysia, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands*, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia*, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden*, Switzerland, Thailand, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA, Vanuatu, Vatican City, Vietnam.

Out of all these places, there are a few that I can call my favourite for one reason or another:

1. ICELAND

My all-time favourite! I would go back there every year in a heartbeat if it was not so expensive. Iceland is like no other place in the world with its Mars-like sceneries and landscapes of geysers, mud pots, glaciers, volcanoes and, well, elves.

2. ARTIC NORWAY

I went to Tromsø with the sole purpose of catching the Northern Lights (which I managed, despite the worst weather conditions possible), just to discover that it has much more to offer: mountains, fjords, islands, and the spirit of true north.

3. FIJI

By all means my most impulsive (and probably most indulgent) trip ever: I always had an unconditional fascination with this country, so when the opportunity arose, I jumped right on it. Fiji proved to be a place that not only lives up to the image of a tropical paradise (and world class diving) but is also a complex clash of cultures.
